Status update

Depending on where you are on the list, there could be up to 8 weeks or so wait, so the sooner you get in the quicker you get hats! I will let you know the approximate wait time when you sign up, and will keep track here with pictures and such of progress! (I won't publish your name or anything on this side, probably just the description of the hat you are receiving).

It will be a limited edition run; I cannot promise that I will be making any more than these. I also cannot promise that these will be the only ones -- I'm doing this for pocket money because my PhD scholarship ran out and I still have the PhD to finish! lol ^^;

Each one will be individually signed [Linliel], labelled and numbered to prove authenticity and come with washing and care instructions.

Colours

I will be offering the following colours:

Hat
Orange
Black
Pale Grey/White
Chocolate Brown
Golden Yellow

If there's a particular colour you really want you can ask, I just know these are likely to be in stock and are Mithra-y. ^^

Ears
All of the colours above in either plain or filled with pink (for more "realistic" ears). For an idea of style, plain is like the orange/brown, "filled" is like the black and pink.
Please note that not all colours are suited to having a pink inner fill, and it's probably best to only have the pink fill if you have the same solid colour for both the ears and main hat.

Okay, I'm going to set out how I will deal with selling hats:

I'll have a limited set of spaces, since I can only make so many hats (each one takes about a week to make) so I don't want to overpromise! When I am done making this series, I will contemplate opening up more slots depending on demand/how much I still enjoy making hats by that stage ^^;

Each person who gets a place in the waiting list will be able to custom choose the colour combination they want (from a set of colours, limited by the available colours of the wool I use), and whether they want filled ears or an inside colour like the Black/Pink ears.

I will post updates and photos of the work in progress to this blog and encourage recipients to post photos of them wearing their hats!

Each hat will have a signed [Linliel] tag and be numbered for authenticity.

Each hat will be made of 100% Malabrigo Kettle Dyed Pure Merino Wool ( http://malabrigoyarn.com ), and hand-knit by me and my little circular needles.

The cost will probably be around US$50 including postage anywhere in the world. I will confirm this when I start the signups. Depending on the value of the US dollar against the Australian dollar, this could rise or fall if I decide to do another run later on.

If you emailed me to show expression of interest, I will offer a place to you first. Thanks for being supportive & helping me make up my mind to do this!

Signups will begin after the BG Rafflecopter is over. By then I will have a full list of available colours, and fixed price as well. Payment will be up front, and work should start within a week of confirmation (because I need to order wool).

Please note I'm really only doing this for a bit of pocket money to see me through til I submit my PhD and get a Real Job (TM). I'm not really interested in making hats the rest of my life, so this really will be a fairly limited offer!

For now I am just taking expressions of interest for hats. If you're interested in potentially ordering one (no obligation!) please let me know. I'm working out whether I should just custom make them or make a few and sell them outright at this stage. I will have a couple in reserve soon, so if you prefer to just wait and see keep tabs on this website!
